劉德音 博士
先進技術事業資深副總經理

Mark Liu received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University in 1976. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from University of California, Berkeley, in 1980 and 1983 respectively.

He is currently Senior Vice President of Advanced Technology Business in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, responsible for 300mm production fabs and Manufacturing Technology Center in TSMC. Previously, he was the President of Worldwide Semiconductor Manufacturing Company in Taiwan in 2000.

He started up TSMC's first 200mm fab as an engineering manager back in 1993.

Prior to joining TSMC, from 1987 to 1993, he was employed by AT&T Bell Laboratory, Holmdel, NJ, as a principle investigator in High Speed Electronics Research Laboratory, working on high speed Bipolar-CMOS and 0.1um CMOS research for optical fiber communication applications.

From 1983 to 1987, he was a senior process integration engineer at Technology Development Division in Intel Corporation, Santa Clara, CA, where he developed process technologies for Intel's 32-bit microprocessors and flash memory products.

Mark Liu served as a technical committee member for VLSI symposium from 1995 to 1999. He is currently serving in ISSM as an executive committee member. He is also serving as a member of Board of Directors in Silicon System Manufacturing Company in Singapore.
