| Jason Chen was
appointed Vice President of Corporate Development at
TSMC in April 2005, responsible for assisting with the
company's business strategy and strategic planning.
from March 2008, he become the Vice President, Worldwide
Sales and Marketing.
Prior to joining TSMC, Mr. Chen worked for Intel for 14 years. He joined Intel in 1991 as reseller channel executive for Taiwan and in 1993, assumed responsibility for Intel's sales in Mainland China. He was appointed director, Asia Pacific (APAC) distribution sales in 1997 and named co-general manager of APAC in 1999. His last assignment with Intel was as vice president and director, sales and marketing group, where he was responsible for Intel's worldwide sales operations.
Before joining Intel, Mr. Chen worked for IBM Taiwan as a marketing representative from 1988 to 1991. Prior to that, he was with Copam Electronics in Taiwan.
Mr. Chen graduated from the National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He earned his MBA degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, U.S.A., in 1988. Mr. Chen was elected by China Computerworld as one of the top 10 most powerful people in China IT industry in 2001.
