In conjunction with it announcement of new distribution partners for its TSMC-branded libraries, the company is also making theses libraries available through TSMC-Online.

TSMC-Online is the company's dedicated TSMC-Online is the company's dedicated and password-protected customers only website. After establishing an account and getting download permission from TSMC account managers or field application engineers, TSMC customers can download these libraries by clicking on the Design Portal sub-domain and selecting "Library & IP", then "TSMC Libraries and IP".

Customers visiting this site can view available libraries using a two-parameter "Technology" and "Product Type" query form. Technologies range from 0.5-micron down to 90nm, with derivatives such as low power and low voltage. Product types include standard cell and I/O, specialty I/O, memory product (SRAM, Flash, and 1TRAM), and mixed signal product (A/D and D/A converters, PLL). In addition, hyper links connect to a library roadmap, providing a reference for planning future design projects.

Establishing A TSMC-Online Account

Customers who want to check out the new TSMC-brand libraries but don't have a TSMC-Online account can just follow these simple few steps :

1. Contact your TSMC account manager who will set up a TSMC-Online account in your company's name. Your company should assign one employee as its foundry manager to manage online account maintenance.

2. During the registration process, your account manager will set accessible technologies so you can retrieve technical documents, such as SPICE, DRM, and command files. To get access to TSMC library kits you should apply for an ftp account through your account manager or through your TSMC customer engineering contact.

3. Your TSMC-Online account allows access to library and IP information, which includes data sheets, application notes, and front-end design kits.

4. If you would like access to back-end kits, such as layout related views, please sign the Library Usage Agreement. After you've signed this agreement, your account manager will advise your field application engineer to enable the backend kit access privilege. TSMC-Online will then issue an email granting backend kit privileges. Simultaneously, TSMC-Online will transfer requested kits to your ftp account.

5. If there is a newer library or IP release than the one requested, TSMC-Online will send an update when the updated kit version is delivered. You can go to Online to select and download additional kits to your ftp account.
