DocuFast Minimizes the Technology
Release-to-Design Gap
Foundry Industry's First Internet-Based Design Document and
Library Management Service

TSMC has unveiled DocuFast, the foundry industry's first internet-based search and group services for design-related technology documents and libraries.

Found in TSMC's On-line suite of design collaboration tools, DocuFast provides the most complete and automated design documentation preparation, maintenance, and sharing capability. DocuFast leads designers through a series of easy-to-follow steps to create a customized, up-to-date TSMC design documentation package.

DocuFast is a robust service that locates, then aggregates pre-packaged and verified design documentation specific to TSMC's technologies. Documents include Design Rule Manuals, SPICE Models, Design Rule Check (DRC) command files, Layout vs. Schematic (LVS) command files, RC Extraction (RCX) files. Libraries include Standard Cell, I/O, SRAM Macro/ Instance, SRAM Macro Generator, SRAM Compiler, ROM Macro Generator, and ROM Compiler.

Through DocuFast, documentation specific to a particular project are compiled and stored in a virtual reference area, reducing document preparation lead-time from days to less than an hour. Early version change notification reduces design re-work . The customized documentation package can be shared with other design team members. Notification of future Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for specific technology documents will be mailed automatically to all team members . With version information and control capability, DocuFast manages design version consistency, ensuring design integrity and reduced design cycle time.

In addition to document management capability, DocuFast enhances the fast assessment of design options. It provides a detailed up-to-date fact sheets for over 48 TSMC process geometries, ranging from 0.35-micron to 90-nanometer line widths and includes CMOS and BiCMOS logic, mixed signal, silicon germanium, Flash, Emb1TRAM embedded memory and image sensor technologies.
Designers can select and compare different fact sheets through a consistent user interface.

All DocuFast documentation packages and fact sheets can be downloaded in a Microsoft Excelcompatible format to facilitate rapid design team communications.
