TSMC is the world's largest dedicated semiconductor foundry,
providing the industry's leading process technology, library and IP options
and other leading-edge foundry services. TSMC operates a six-inch wafer
fab (at fab 2), five eight-inch wafer fabs (at fab 3, 5, 6, 8 and WaferTech)
and two 12-inch wafer GigaFabs (at fab 12 and 14). In addition, the company
has a $1.2 billion joint venture fab (at SSMC) with NXP Semiconductor, which
is operated in Singapore. Keeping pace with the trend of clear industry
growth, TSMC is committed to significant capacity expansion: an eight-inch
fab in Shanghai, China (fab 10.) In 2006, total capacity at TSMC exceeds
seven million 8-inch equivalent wafers. |
