TSMC's eFoundry^SM Shortens Time-to-Market, Time-to-Delivery and Time-to-Volume

TSMC's eFoundry is a suite of leading web-based applications that give designers a more active role in design, engineering, and logistics when working with TSMC. Designers have access to critical information and can create custom reports through the 24 hour a day, seven days a week online services.

eFoundry services are available thorugh two channels and three collaborations

Two Channels

TSMC-Online

TSMC-Online is the foundry sector first delivery system to enable secure online business transaction and information transfer that assists in creating product design, tape-outs, and wafer tracking through each step within the production process.

The system's one-to-one integration ensures ease-of-use through features, such as a global search engine in the Technical Information Resource Center and information personalization through My Folders.

TSMC-Direct

TSMC-Direct is a premium service that enables system-to-system integration between TSMC and our business partners that use third party software.


	The Result:
	Link mission-critical business processes and seamlessly connect process and information systems; to create an extension of a customers' own IT system.
	Enhanced supply chain visibility to reduce cycle time, and control inventory levels and cost.
	The ability to handle free format types such as text, images, CAD files, and binary data.

Three Collaborations

eFoundry's three collaborations cover design, engineering and logistical functions



	The Design Collaboration focuses on content availability and accessibility, with close attention to complete, accurate, and current information at each level of the wafer design life cycle.
	The Engineering Collaboration includes online access to pilot lots, wafer yields, wafer acceptance test (WAT) analysis, and quality reliability data.
	The Logistics Collaboration provides access to data updated three times a day on a wafer lot's status in fabrication, assembly and testing, final testing, order and shipping.

Critical Web-based Applications

Design Collaboration

	DocuFast, provides a set of pre-packaged and pre-verified design-related documents. The service minimizes document preparation lead-time prior to initiating a design project and reduces design re-work time through early notification of document version changes. Designers can share the DocuFast folder with other design team members regardless of where they located. This ensures design impact studies and updates are synchronized to the same document set.
	Technical Documents covers a comprehensive array of up-to-date information, critical to all stages of design, manufacturing, assembly and test cycles. Download documents such as Design Rules, Command Files, and SPICE models with a few clicks, and choose to automatically receive updates or document change notification.
	Design Portal offers the most complete design infrastructure portfolio in the foundry sector. This infrastructure includes a design service overview, TSMC in-house design service, reference flows, DocuFast, library and IP information quality management systems, chip implementation service, EDA technology files, and IC validation.

Engineering Collaboration

	eJobView, is a real-time, web-based system designed for customers to access a remote job view from any location, at any time.
	Remote Mask Database Check eliminates the mismatch between MT and mask database during the mask tooling step to reduce mask hold ratios and improve cycle times.

Logistic Collaboration

Production Information provides the most up-to-date logistics information, including product, mask, manufacturing status, shipping, billing, order information, electrical data and trend charts.This enables online access to both summary and detailed information.
