Commitment to Education
In the fast changing and highly competitive international economy, professionals with global exposure are essential for the survival of the Taiwan businesses. Recognizing the need for visionary training programs, TSMC is supporting ”TSMC Chair Professorshipand “Morris Chang Chair Professorship”, which invites internationally renowned professors to lecture in Taiwan. Meanwhile, TSMC encourages undergraduate students to study overseas one year by offering “TSMC Undergraduate International Exchange Scholarships”. All these programs are aiming at fostering leaders with worldwide visions.

In 2005 TSMC donated NT150 million dollars to National Tsing Hua University to establish the School of Technology Management, TSMC Hall, to promote the integration of technology and management training. At the end of 2005, TSMC contributed NT120 million Dollars to National Taiwan University to build a new research center for the chemistry department. The research center will be dedicated to both cutting-edge chemistry and material science research education, and development of future leaders.

To increase public interest in science and technology, TSMC Education and Culture Foundation also sponsors various science education programs, including popular science publications, lectures and gifted student science camps etc. We support and participate in the development of a permanent exhibition; "The world of Integrated Circuits" - In the National Museum of Natural Sciences.
