TSMC is devoted to improving the quality of life in Taiwan society. We hope to increase the public interest and participation in art and cultural events through the TSMC Education and Culture Foundation's sponsorship. The protection of cultural assets is also one of our focuses.In past 4 years the foundation has been sponsoring TSMC Youth Literature Awards to encourage creative writings, and hence increase their interest in humanities in the young generation.
To promote children's esthetic education, TSMC Education and Culture Foundation launched "TSMC Esthetic Education Tour" in 2002. Every year the project organizes tours for 10,000 children from the rural areas throughout Taiwan to visit museums and fine arts institutes. In total, more than 40,000 children have been invited to take the tour. This year the Foundation also sponsored a Public Television Station program,「National Palace Museum Adventure」, to attract more students to the fined treasure of National Palace Museum. By exposing school children to museum tours at an early age, we hope to instill creativity and appreciation of fine arts.
