Dr. Wei-Jen Lo received his B.S. degree in physics from National Taiwan University in 1972. He received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Solid State Physics and Surface Chemistry from University of California, Berkeley in 1977 and 1979 respectively.

He is currently Vice President of Operation II in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, responsible for manufacturing operations. He joined TSMC inJuly, 2004.

Prior to joining TSMC, from 2000 to 2004, he was the director of technology development and plant manager in Intel's Technology and Manufacturing Group at California. From 1997 to 2000, he was the factory manager, responsible for running Intel development factory at Santa Clara, California. He joined Intel at 1987.

Prior to joining Intel, he has worked in the U.S. university, Motorola Research and Development Lab and Xerox Microelectronics Center.
