The TSMC Foundation hopes to link these three places together through the arts, and also hopes that our support for the arts can attract more resources to make Taiwan’s arts scene even more vibrant.” The Hsin-Chu Arts Festival features four major themes: classical music, traditional theater and music, children’s art education, and community-building. The Guo Guang Opera Company will also perform the classic “The Orphan of Zhao”, the first Chinese play to be translated into a European language.

To promote children’s art education, the Festival has invited Hsinchu’s Cornychicken Theater and the Tainan International Children’s Film Festival to tour 15 elementary schools across Taiwan, while the Taiyuan Puppet Theater Company will perform the environmental tale “the Sea, the Shark, and the Boy”.
