Science-Based Industrial Park, Hsinchu, Taiwan, August 16, 2000 -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp. (TSMC) received the 2000 Tribute Award last week from Adaptec, Inc. for being a supplier that has consistently made significant contributions, year after year, to Adaptec’s business success. The Tribute Award is the highest form of recognition Adaptec gives to its suppliers.
Adaptec, Inc., the global leader in innovative storage solutions, recognized TSMC and other suppliers at its annual suppliers’ day celebration in Santa Clara and Singapore last week. More than 90 suppliers were acknowledged.
TSMC has been an Adaptec partner for more than eight years. During this time, the company has helped Adaptec meet critical design specifications, and has quickly ramped up production of Adaptec’s products, resulting in several major customer design wins for Adaptec.
“We are honored to receive the 2000 Tribute Award from Adaptec,” said Ed Ross, president of TSMC North America. “The relationship between Adaptec and TSMC is a strong example of co-operation, and the ‘virtual fab’ philosophy of TSMC.”
The theme of Adaptec’s suppliers day celebration was “Mission is Possible” because, together with a team of committed suppliers, Adaptec accomplished its mission of business excellence.
