Hsinchu, Taiwan, Dec. 27, 2001 --Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) (TAIEX: 2330, NYSE: TSM) today appointed its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Mr. Harvey Chang as its Spokesperson. Meanwhile, Public Relations Department will report directly to TSMC Chairman Dr. Morris Chang.
According to TSMC, the new appointment was resulted from the resignation of former Spokesperson Ms. K. C. Chen, who will leave TSMC on Dec. 28, 2001 to teach law. For the same reason, the Board of TSMC Education and Culture Foundation completed the reelection of its Chairman today. TSMC Deputy Chief Executive Officer Dr. F. C. Tseng was elected as the new Chairman of the Foundation. Ms. K. C. Chen will remain one of the Directors of Board in the Foundation.
