Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C. – September 21, 2017 – TSMC today announced Chairman Dr. Morris Chang was honored by Forbes Magazine as one of The World’s 100 Greatest Living Business Minds. In celebration of its 100th anniversary, Forbes selected today’s most influential business leaders around the world and collected their lessons and ideas.
In his contribution, Chairman Chang said: “My values are: integrity, commitment, innovation and trust from customers. Integrity means honesty and willingness to fulfill a promise, even at a high cost. Commitment means dedication and loyalty to a task or an organization. Innovation means change. Trust from customers of course has to be earned, and I try to earn it by integrity and commitment.”
In the two-year selection process developing the list of 100, Forbes sought people who had either created something with a lasting impact on the world or innovated in a way that transcends their given field. Other honorees featured on on Forbes’ 100 Greatest Living Business Minds list include: Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Sheryl Sandberg, Rupert Murdoch, Giorgio Armani, Michael Bloomberg and more. Chairman Chang was the only semiconductor industry leader and one of just 12 Asian businesspeople selected to the list.
Forbes’ Special Centennial Issue was issued on September 19 in step with an exclusive celebration in New York City marking Forbes’ 100th anniversary. The evening of celebration and sharing was attended by hundreds of dignitaries, celebrities and approximately 40 of the featured Greatest Business Minds, including Asian honorees Chairman Chang as well as Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Grameen Bank founder Muhammad Yunus.
