TSMC Wins 2011 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Report "Gold Award"

Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C. – November 29, 2011 –TSMC today announced that the company has been awarded the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy’s highest honor, the 2011 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Report “Gold Award” for manufacturing companies. This is the third consecutive year that TSMC has won this award, and this year TSMC is also the sole winner of the new “best website” award, demonstrating TSMC’s dedication to sustainable management and transparent disclosure.

The Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Report Award is the second honor awarded to TSMC’s annual Corporate Responsibility Report this year, following the Taiwan Stock Exchange Outstanding Disclosure Award for Listed Companies’ Corporate Sustainability Reports.

“As a benchmark for corporations, TSMC has shown itself to be dedicated to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, and its 2010 CSR report is comprehensive, well-organized, clearly understandable by all stakeholders, and easily accessible,” the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy said in its judging comments. “In addition, the high-quality visual design is worth emulation by other companies.”

The ceremony for the 2011 Corporate Sustainability Report Awards was held today at the International Hall of the Ministry of Transportation and Communication International Conference Center, with R.O.C. Vice President Vincent Siew as the guest of honor.
