TSMC Announces Full Adoption of EICC Code of Conduct

Hsinchu, Taiwan – July 29, 2015 – TSMC today announced it has completed adoption of the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) Code of Conduct across the company. Since becoming an applicant member in January 2015, TSMC has performed self-assessments at its facilities worldwide and reviewed policies and procedures in the areas of labor, health and safety, environment, ethics, and management to ensure that the company meets the letter and spirit of the Code of Conduct.

In addition to the company’s self-assessment, TSMC has established a Supplier Code of Conduct based on the EICC Code of Conduct and has asked major suppliers to commit themselves to meeting the standards defined in the code.

“TSMC believes its corporate social responsibility is to make society better, just as the EICC’s vision is to create better social, economic, and environmental outcomes for all those involved in the electronics information and communication technology supply chain,” said Dr. Stephen Tso, TSMC’s Senior Vice President of Materials Management and Risk Management. “We are committed to the EICC Code of Conduct, and will employ it to continue working with our suppliers to bring about positive changes.”
