Global shutter, High-Dynamic-Range (HDR), Near Infrared (NIR) sensitivity and distance sensing are critical for autonomous vehicles to safely navigate in all weather and ambient conditions.

TSMC's CIS technology enables high resolution, Global shutter and HDR capabilities to sensors that are imperatives in fully autonomous vehicles. NIR+ technology that enhanced the sensitivity of sensors and extended the sensing wavelength from visible light to NIR light (longer wavelength) has been added to the CIS offering portfolio. The high QE (Quantum Efficiency) from NIR+ technology enhances vehicle night vision and make Lidar sensor feasible.
